Dear Family, January 24, 2014
This week we studied our winter survival unit called “Hug a Tree”. The kids are ready to take on the next snow storm and dress in layers! We will come back to this unit when it does snow so the kids can demonstrate what they have learned organically. Pray for snow! Our Acts of Kindness chart is accumulating quickly. We are trying to gather 100 or more kind gestures before Valentine’s Day. Remember, when you see your child performing an act of kindness, jot it down and send it in for us to celebrate! We are learning how to use tally marks to keep track. Our science time has ended with Mrs. Martin so I have planned a science unit for next week. We will be learning about matter with an emphasis on water. It will be an exciting week! On the back of this letter you will find the volunteer schedule for February. If your volunteer day does not work for you, please let me know and we can make a change. I can’t thank you all enough for your dedication and support that you provide in our classroom. Once again there is a beautiful weekend ahead of us. Enjoy the outdoors with your family and have a fantastic weekend! Sincerely, Taylor REMINDER DATES: January 31: Family Math Night 6:00 -7:30 PM February 5: 12:45 Early Release Day February 17-21: Ski Skate Week
