Dear Family,
We had another great week in Kindergarten preparing for the best kid event…. Halloween! Today we started our day with an all school Halloween costume parade followed by an assembly introducing the kids to Unicef. They watched a short video on the children who benefit from the coins we collect. It was a big message for our kindergartners. You may want to chat with your child to help process the information. And, thank you to the parents who stayed and helped with our Halloween mini centers today! Next week we will return to our studies of nocturnal animals with the focus on the owl. As our scientists explore new information and begin to apply newly acquired skills to show how much they know, we, as their teachers, will hold up, honor and celebrate their successes. It is my goal to create a classroom where your child takes risks everyday as a learner. We have started journaling in our writing journals. I encourage the students by helping them hear the sounds in words, accepting their attempts, and praise them to try and write down their thoughts. I am amazed at what they are already writing! Again, I appreciate all of my parent volunteers for your time and dedication the last 10 weeks helping the kiddos learn! Please find the November Volunteer Schedule in your child's Friday Folder. Have a fun Halloween weekend! Taylor Reminder Dates: November 10: NO SCHOOL Teacher In-Service Day November 11: NO SCHOOL Veterans Day
