Dear Family,
This week has been so much fun as the children continue practicing oral language by sharing camping tales, singing and reciting rhymes and familiar songs and much more. The children created nighttime camp scenes with oil pastels and told a story about their picture. Just beginning to model First, Then, Next, and At the end, prompts for storytelling. We have had an amazing camp out through literature, drama, art, cooking and song. Next week, our thematic studies will bring our first science unit Bees. Your scientists will become an expert on bees, their jobs, their purpose, parts of a bee and much more. We will be buzzing Eagle Walk is next Friday! Thank you so much for considering sharing snacks and/or your time with us that day! AND… THANK YOU ahead of time for you generous donations to our class funds. Please read the back of this letter for more information on Eagle Walk. I have attached the October volunteer schedule to this letter. You will notice on some dys that I have alternated parents. Feel free to switch days amongst yourselves. Just post your changes on the calendar outside our classroom. This schedule is for our big centers from 9:45 AM – 10:30 AM. Thank you in advance! Please sign up in class for a Parent-Teacher Conference if you haven’t already. I will be starting conferences next week! Have a wonderful weekend! Sincerely, Taylor Strong Reminder Dates: October 7: Eagle Walk : No centers on this day since Eagle Walk takes up the majority of our morning. Eagle Walk Our annual Eagle Walk classroom fundraiser is coming up on Friday, October 7th at 9:40 AM - 11:40 AM. This is the ONLY fundraiser with earnings going directly to our classroom account here in C-2. There are other PTO school wide fundraisers throughout the year, but this is the one that is for our class only. The money from Eagle Walk will be used to make centers fun and innovating. I will use the account for art supplies, cooking projects, books and a few special learning tools. Kindergarten families usually pledge a flat fee and do not count laps. At the Eagle Walk we keep the kids moving the entire time, approximately one hour. You can tell people who pledge that you will be moving for one whole hour to earn money for your class. In the past, families have reached $50+ goals! Thank you in advance for your generous contributions! I hope you will be joining us for this fun event! If you want to donate anything for “fuel” (sliced oranges, grapes, pretzels, etc.) for the kiddos then please do! Your Eagle Walker will be exhausted after the event so please pack a water bottle with your child’s name on it! Thank you, Taylor
